Family Farm
We are a family run small family farm / business. We believe in following all organic practices on our land. We raise Bees and farm Hemp. We purposely let other flowering weeds grow (besides Hemp) so that the Bees will have plenty of food to harvest. We do as much as we can by hand. Each Bee Hive and Hemp plant are individually cared for and looked after.
Just like our farming practices being simple and organic, we like to keep the products that result from that the same – simple and organic. We keep our packaging simple and labeling simple. We use the best practices to ensure you have a safe and wholesome product. Our focus is on producing small batches to ensure that we maintain the quality that we set out to do.
When it comes time to harvest our honey we only filter down to 200 microns to preserve all the goodness in the honey plus we only cold filter. We don’t have a lot of hives, but the ones we do have we take excellent care of them. Our bees are very well feed as we have lots of beneficial weeds that we let grow for them. Every year we try and expand the areas of land that we are planting native wildflowers on so that the bees and other pollinators will have a good close source of food.
With regards to the services we offer. We like to cater to the family or small business. We know how important it is to keep things working for a long time and to take care of those items. Recently we purchased a new tractor (Kioti CK 4010se), the previous tractor we used was from 1967 and it is the literally the same tractor that I grew up operating on my parents and grandparents dairy farm in rural west central Wisconsin. I am the third generation to have driven that tractor and my child got to be the fourth generation.
We have a variety of tools we can offer to rent. Most of them center around garden, farm, and pasture use. A lot of them can be used to some basic landscaping jobs as well. We like to keep things simple but yet effective. We can work your garden or clean up a field or meadow. Along with mowing a trail for a nice walking path to enjoy during the year.
With regards to services they tend to focus around hauling things. We will clean out your garage or shed, help you with a senior relative who needs to downsize, haul away a piece of furniture, or if you need some dirt, rocks, or gravel hauled in we can do that as well. Our goal is match what we can offer to what you are looking for.
We have been on this farm since late 2002. We have made our own hay for the horses, maple syrup from the maple trees, honey from the bees and other items from the garden and hemp field. Currently we are producing Honey. For the fourth year in a row we are involved with the Midwest Hemp Database Research project in conducting research on different varieties of hemp. We are tracking how they grow and how much they produce here in Wisconsin. The purpose of this project is to give hemp producers a better understanding of how the hemp will grow in the real world.
