We are Ken and Jo Anna, owners of Bees and Weeds Farm. We believe kindness, caring, trust, and helping others come first in everything we do, both personally and professionally. We know that big household jobs can often be challenging or overwhelming for folks, whether it be physically, emotionally, financially, and/or timewise. We saw a need in Madison and the surrounding communities for a more personal, “small batch” hauling service as well as a small tractor service for backyard jobs. One that
When we moved to the country 20+ years ago, we envisioned that our small farm would provide a beautiful home for us and our animals, as well as an opportunity to share its gifts with others. In those 20 years, we have loved and cared for over 50 rescued animals – cats, dogs, horses, chickens, hamsters, reptiles, and other small critters. We’ve taken in strangers and friends alike. We grow food to share with others and donate to food pantries. In more recent years, we’ve added extra care for pollinators – beekeeping (from which we harvest excess honey) as well as planting native pollinator food sources in our yards and pastures, and nurturing existing ones (milkweed, for example) to flourish, creating a healthier little organic ecosystem here. We grow hemp plants to produce our own CBD/CBG oils and salves, and we participate in the Midwest Hemp Data research program for Wisconsin. This is how the name, Bees and Weeds Farm came about.
